Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Project was awarded to Society for Action in Community Health (SACH) by Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC) through the national tender processes in December 2017. The project aims at improving sanitation and hygiene conditions through WASH interventions in the five revenue villages under Tilia Gram Panchayat (4 villages) and Rengali and Kumarbandh Gram Panchayat (I village). The construction of 1300 house hold toilets under Individual Household Toilet & Bathroom (IHTB) initiative, awareness about safe sanitation and behavioural change and provision of water supply are the major components of the project. The project is in sync with Government of India's idea of making India Open Defecation Free (ODF) under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).
