Major initiatives include environmental education, awareness and protection. The whole idea is to roll out a process through concerted and organized efforts allowing communities and individuals develop deeper understanding on environmental issues.
Beginning with an action study project-Area Water Partnership-in Kanpur during 2012-13tounderstandthecausesof pollution to river Ganga in the city of Kanpur, we are now working on a project for sustainable development for Ganga Yamuna River Ecosystems in Allahabad region with support from Global Green. It advocates for protection of Ganga and Yamuna through empowering women of Kol Tribe in Shankargarh block of Allahabad district.
Alongside, SACH is promoting use of sustainable energy to minimize the impact of environmental hazards. We started a campaign for renewable energy by providing solar lights in some of the villages in Meghalaya as part of strengthening rural infrastructure.
