Leveraging technology: Technology has the cutting edge advantage to improve educational outcomes. Therefore it is important that investments are made in the government schools so that this advantage is reaped by the students who would otherwise not have the capacity to use it.  Technology also helps these students to equip themselves with the changing scenario and absorb more knowledge and skills like other students.

Creating student-friendly learning environments: Establishing well-equipped classrooms with labs, libraries, sports facilities, and high-quality infrastructure can significantly improve  students’ learning experiences. They foster hands-on study and research, encourage physical fitness and overall growth as well as overall confidence to face the world.  In addition to the technology advantage, creating basic and clean sanitation units provide the children with ample confidence and reduce learning gaps by eliminating loss of school days.

Teacher-student engagement: Effective teacher-student involvement is critical to high-quality learning. Teachers who are competent, driven, and invested in their profession can motivate students, provide individualized attention, and foster a positive learning environment helping students develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

The Urgency and Need

• Punjab, one of the most developed states in India, has a woeful record when it comes to education, with a literacy rate of 76.7% according to the 2011 census.
• The percentage of children not enrolled in any school, aged between 6-14 years has increased from 0.9 % in 2018 to 3.7% in 2021.
• Although the Ludhiana district in Punjab has an 82% literacy rate, the condition of school infrastructure is poor in rural areas and requires a total facelift to provide pupils from these regions with an equal opportunity to pursue quality education.

Our Vision

• The project aims to achieve comprehensive development of government schools by addressing the multi-dimensional needs that the school requires for making it completely student friendly.
• Ensure basic necessities such as regular water supply, sanitation, hygiene, teaching supplies, extracurricular engagement activities, and much more.
• Overall performance and holistic growth of students with increased attendance, footfall, and retention.

The Ask

The immediate requirements are given under:

• Infrastructural Refurbishment- includes repair requirements together with classroom structure upgradation, flooring, plastering, roof replacement, doors, partitions, etc.
• Improvement of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene- ensuring provision of good quality and functional units of drinking water and toilet structures.
• Empower Teachers through training and teaching aids- offering training to teachers and providing additional educational supplements and materials.
• Training of school students on life skills and leadership
• Promote extra-curricular activities- organizing sports development activities, quizzes, exhibitions, etc.
